Operations from today to arrest those who obtain ransom from buses.

The National Transport Commission says that jointly with the police a special programme will be implemented from today for arresting persons who obtain ransom from buses.
NTC Chairman Roshan Gunawardhana said that legal action would be taken against persons obtaining ransom as well as relevant bus conductors.
While the first phase of this operation will be implemented in the Polonnaruwa, Mahiyanganaya and Badulla districts, it is planned  to extend it to other districts as well subsequently.
