Several views have been expressed with regard to the end of the world throughout the recent past.

However the first such remark had been made around 2900 years ago during the Sumerian civilization and then such views were emanated as a result of the calendar of the Mayans.

However, NASA issuing a statement stated that December 21^st only marked the end of a cycle in the Mayan calendar and another cycle would begin subsequently.
