Interruptions to court proceedings in the North, Galle and Matara

Court proceedings of the Northern Province, Galle and Matara had been disrupted as a results of lawyers refraining from their duties in protest of the impeachment brought against the Chief Justice.

Accordingly, the activities of district, magistrate and high courts of Jaffna, Mannar, Wavniya, Kilinochchi and Mulativ areas have been disrupted.

The Chairman of Galle District Lawyers Association Nalani Manathunga said that a considerable impact has been made the to court proceedings in Galle.

Past President of Matara District Lawyers Association Sunil Jayasekara also informed that the lawyers have refrained from duties.
